This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit tessamacpherson.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We aim to collect as little as possible.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the site, so we can improve it. Analytics cookies are only set once you have given consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, no analytics cookies or identifiers are stored on your device unless you choose “Accept”. If you decline, Google still receives a basic, cookieless record of the visit which cannot be used to identify you or to recognise you across visits.

Change your mind at any time:
Some recipes include a video hosted on Instagram. Nothing is loaded from Instagram until you click to play it — until then, no request is made and no cookies are set. Once you choose to load a video, Instagram (Meta) receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, governed by Meta’s privacy policy rather than this one.
If you subscribe, we store the first name and email address you provide in order to send you recipes and updates. This is based on your consent, and every email includes an unsubscribe link. Subscriptions are handled on our behalf by EmailOctopus, who process this data as our provider.
Messages sent through the contact form include your name, email address and the content of your message. We use them only to reply to you. Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, who host this website.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers needed to run the site: Google (analytics), Netlify (hosting and form handling), EmailOctopus (newsletter) and Meta (only if you choose to play an embedded Instagram video). Some of these providers are based outside the EEA, in which case transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
Analytics data is retained for 14 months. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what came before.

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects cookies, ask for your consent again.
